Ok, so this album wasn’t actually released in February, but it reached good heights in February on the charts, and is quite noteworthy: Perhaps a further example of the recent Malaysian presence in Mandarin music, Gary Chaw is also a Malaysian! (A fact that makes me happy, yep). His breakout album was 格格 Blue, released in early 2006.
This album is especially noteworthy for its varied use of styles. For example, 兩隻戀人 (Two Lovers) is a song sung to the melody of 兩隻老虎, while 我的甜蜜蜜 sounds like a dreamy song.. One’s almost expecting to see clouds forming on top of your head. 妳是我的寶貝, on the other hand, employs the “old song” effect where everything sounds a bit more distant and far. An interesting album, to say the least - check it out!
