吳建豪, or V.Dubb (his nickname) or Vanness Wu (man, these artists have so many pseudonyms) hadn’t come out with a new album in 5 years. His last one was in 2002, 身體會唱歌 (The Body Can Sing), which also gave rise to his cover of Auld Lang Syne, “My Friend.”

So this year, as he says, “真的不好意思讓大家等了五年.” Or, “Sorry for letting everyone wait for five years.” His album was released in April of this year, and it made the top of the charts. Overall, the album is really quite nicely balanced, with rap/R&B songs in ample (我的王國 and Never Let You Go), and with sentimental songs (放手) and one, like Jay Chou’s 聽媽媽的話 (Listen to Mother’s Words) remembering his mom (媽媽), which I liked especially much.

I’m really looking forward to his future albums.

Vanness Wu came out with a new album earlier this year - called V.DUBB. Please don’t ask me what that means, I have no idea and no clue. Do however, realize that this album has many R&B/Rap influences, and will probably be one of those albums people like to dance hip-hop to.This is the first song, 我的王國, or “My Kingdom”, and I really like it. Listen and see for yourself. The way he repeats his name continually reminds me of Jay Chou.
